Description
Alpha UltraMax Base Unit with RES
The Alpha UltraMax Base Unit is the ultimate device to start the ultimate vaping experience. Add your own 17670 Protected Li-Ion 3.7v battery and a 306 or 510 low resistance atomizer with a drip tip and you have a basic Alpha UltraMax 3.7v Electronic Cigarette. Add some of your favorite e-liquid and you’re ready for amazing vapor production.
If you’re already enjoying the amazing vapor production of "6 volt" high voltage vaping, drop in your pair of RCR123A LFP 3.2v batteries with a standard resistance atomizer and be prepared for a new level of "6 volt" high voltage vaping.
The Alpha Electronic Cigarette is a top of the line, precision manufactured, American made electronic cigarette manufactured to 0.0005 of an inch tolerances out of billet (single piece) 6061 T6 Aluminum (the same aluminum that aircraft wings are made from). Strong and light, the Alpha is built for performance year after year. Electroless Nickel Plated to protect against corrosion, the Alpha carries a 10 year warranty (3 years for switch assembly).
Built to exacting tolerances, custom designed and manufactured in the USA, the Alpha is built using state of the art materials and equipment to deliver superior performance and a lifetime of use. In a market full of unreliable, low quality, mass produced products, the Alpha delivers unmatched performance, quality, and craftsmanship.
The revolutionary Alpha integrated Reservoir Expansion System (RES) is the perfect solution for e-liquid injection. No need for cartridges, cartomizers, or constant direct dripping. No more potentially contaminating foam or polyester in contact with your e-liquid. The RES is not a cheap plastic tank system that could deteriorate, leaching chemicals into your e-liquid. Like all Alpha products, the RES is built using state of the art materials and equipment to deliver superior performance and a lifetime of use. The Alpha UltraMax RES housing is made from the same 6061 T6 Aluminum as other Alpha products, Electroless Nickel Plated for corrosion resistance, and the same diameter as the Alpha UltraMax body for a streamlined look and feel. Inside is a medical grade porous ceramic wick to contain your favorite e-liquid. The Alpha UltraMax RES holds 2.0ml of e-liquid.
The Cape Cod Metal Polishing Cloth is a quick and easy way to bring that shine back to your Alpha Electronic Cigarette. It’s treated with a polishing compound that will remove any dirt or oils and has an anti-tarnish formula to protect the nickel plating. It can be used over and over and will last for many years.
The Cape Cod Metal Polishing Cloth leaves a protective coating that has a slick feel. It is recommended to remove the battery sleeve from the main body before polishing your Alpha. Make sure you wipe down your Alpha parts with a dry cloth or paper towel after using the Cape Cod Metal Polishing Cloth to remove any excess polishing compound before reassembling your Alpha. It is not advised to polish the battery sleeve. If your battery sleeve requires cleaning, wipe it with a dry cloth or paper towel. It is best to avoid using anything on your battery sleeve that will make it slick and difficult to operate.
Alpha UltraMax Electronic Cigarette dimensions:
Length without atomizer and drip tip: 92.25mm (3.63")
Diameter: 21mm (0.83")

Plumes Of Vapor
I bought one of these on a whim. Was reading ECF and came across the thread. After reading and looking at it, I dropped the money for one...the UltraMax with RES. I have never regretted it to this day. I love this new vaping toy. Add a low resistance cartomizer and you get a total of 3ml of juice. Even for a newbie, this is easy to use. The slide switch is a really neat feature, no more firing in your pocket. I take this bad boy with me everywhere I go. All mechanical and beautiful looking. I bought a second RES so I change flavors on the fly.
Vapor, flavor, and throat hit production from this unit far exceeds anything that I own and I have a bunch of PV's.
If you want a great PV, then this is the one. Easy to use and maintain. I highly recommend this to a new or advanced user.
Read the reviews on ECF if you don't believe just how awesome this mod is.

And Rock it does!
My initial review/findings on the UltraMax w/Res after 4 to 5 hours:
The User Guide/Manual is great. Well detailed and lots of pictures. Although I've downloaded it from the website to my computer, I still like having a hard copy. Must be my age because I still prefer manuals in print rather than on the computer. SH did a great job on it.
I like the shape and feeling of it. I'm getting arthritis in my hands and I'm finding that box mods seem to be bothering them these days and the round shapes seem to be easier on them.
One thing I will have to get use to is the slide switch. It started sticking on me but I had read earlier to try wiping out the outside of the battery sleeve as well as the inside of the main body. I did that and it's sliding more smoothly now.
It says that you can use the battery in either direction so when I put it back together from wiping the battery sleeve and the main body I decided to put it nipple side down. It does not seem to fire as well when it's like that. I had a hard time getting it to fire that way at first and then it seemed to be hit or miss if it would fire so I turned it around and put it nipple side up. It seems to work much better that way.
The one area I had the most problem with is the Res/Atomizer area. I was able to unscrew the body from this area with no problem. I had a major problems trying to unscrew the Atomizer interface from the Res area. No matter which direction I tried unscrewing it, it wouldn't move. I finally got it off but then had a much trouble screwing it back on to the body. I remembered someone saying Vaseline on the threads help so I tried that and it helped some but it still is on the tight side when screwing the Res onto the atomizer interface. It's like it doesn't want to go. I have to line them up just right.
The taste and vapor is very good. I seem to be having to refill the Res more than I thought I would because I keep getting dry hits but that could very well be my vaping style - I normally take long hits and often. I'm using an 2.0 510 Ikenvape atty - brand new - so that could also be why too. I'll have to try a std 510 Joyetech atty tomorrow.
I usually vape between 3 to 6 ml a day which is why I got the UltraMax as well as for the longer battery lasting battery.
All and all I am pleased with it. I always have a learning curve with new stuff and this will be no exception.
After almost 2 weeks - I totally love it and put my Egos away for emergencies only. That battery lasts for a full day of vaping which is great. I have found that I prefer standard attys on it rather than 2.0 attys. I'm not getting dry hits like I was at first. I am able to tell by the taste when it's just about time to add more juice.
It's real easy to clean. At the end of the day I rinse out the Res and atty under warm to hot water for a couple of minutes. I then lay them on a paper towel over night and then charge the battery. When I get up in the morning, I put it back together and fill the res. I'm then ready for the entire day except for adding juice throughout the day as needed.
The one thing I wish is that the Res would hold more juice.

Apex Ultramax with RES Rocks
So, now that I've had my Ultramax with RES for 2 weeks now I thought I would throw out my 2 cents worth.
Other than a self induced switch issue that is sorted out now, I am very impressed with the Ultramax with RES. It is smaller and lighter than I expected. Looks awesome, feels awesome, and most importantly, the all around performance, great vapor and flavor, and hassle free ease of use is just really to sweet. The RES has worked flawlessly for me with running a 1.5 ohm atty, AW protected 17670's, with BWB Malty & Malty Toffee 75vg/25pg juice. This is working so well for me I haven't even tried 6V yet which is unusual for me not to at least try it in this time frame. I run 6V in my GGTB almost exclusively, run my Buzz somewhere between 4.2 - 5.2 V with CE2 2.8 -3.0 / 3.0 - 3.2 map type tank mods. Also, I run 6V about 1/2 the time in my bottom feed wooden box mods with varying 510 and 801 atty combos.
I am not a chainvaper. I will take 2 or 4 "toots" maybe every 5 to 15 minutes & my average juice usage runs less than 3MLS on a light day and up to 6MLS on a unusually heavy day. I have taken the Ultramax with RES fully loaded (probably overfilled, kinda gurgly, and I have seen a little juice at the RES vent holes ) on the golf course several times for a 3 1/2 - 4 hour round plus hitting the obligatory 19th hole for a drink or three and not have to add a drop of juice. When I do get to a "dryer" hit, it seems I can draw on it with no fire, then draw and fire and it hits fine. I can do this for quite some time before I add juice. The recommended 10 drops works for well over an hour or so for me. YMMV.
Thanks Innovapor for a great device, and for great customer service as was proven to me when I PM'd Noah about my self perceived switch issue. No questions asked, the next day I had new inner and outer tubes in the mailbox with a postage paid return envelope to return the self perceived faulty ones. WOW, that was quick. When I measured them with digital calipers, saw there was no difference I returned the new tubes. That was my bad, and Noah, if you see this, I apologize for not taking a closer look at the tolerances of the center part of the tube to start with and be smart enough to reconize that there was no way what I thought was happening could happen.....duh huh.
The Apex Alpha Ultramax with RES rocks.!!!
